ABOUT KAMKAST
WHAT IS KAM KAST?
KAM KAST was founded during the early portion of COVID times when I (Kam) decided to venture in a lifelong goal of creating sports and pop culture content. Kam Kast began as a podcast that was distributed on Youtube and Spotify, where I dipped my toe in the proverbial content creation space. However, after roughly 11 months of creating weekly content, and fine-tuning my voice and my niche, I had virtually no followers and had no community to speak of. After feeling down and questioning whether I could create a name for myself in this space, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and create a Tik Tok account under the same name (@kam.kast). Quickly on Tik Tok, I found my voice, I found my niche, and I was able to create a community of roughly 42k followers. I never could have imagined that I would ever achieve that level of following, or that anyone would resonate with my sports takes and sports commentary. I mean after all, I am just a guy who grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles who played basketball growing up but wound up becoming a civil engineer when I really wanted to become a sports journalist.
WHY DID I START THIS BLOG?
This leads me to my next venture: this blog. Writing has always been my true passion; I have found I have always been better at conveying my thoughts and ideas through the written word as opposed to verbally. So although I enjoy what I have built on Tik Tok and plan to keep that growing, the next phase of my sports content creation will be my written blog posts. There are so many long-form ideas and avenues that I will explore on this site, hopefully captivating my readers and sparking new topics of conversation and intrigue.
This is my call to action for all of you have made it this far in the “About” section of my blog; if you love the NBA, MLB, NFL, and everything in between make sure you subscribe to this blog and also check out my other social pages (Tik Tok, Youtube, etc.). This venture I find myself on is the culmination of my love for sports and my drive to make a name for myself in this space long term. Join in on the conversation, and never hesitate to reach out for a sports topic you are curious about! And much like my idol, the late Kobe Bryant, the Mamba Mentality is deeply entrenched within me and within each of my posts. I am nothing without the support of sports enthusiasts like yourself, and I would love to humbly thank you for visiting my site!
